Quick Tip: Locking the screen

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

You walk out of the room and don’t want to leave your Mac accessible to anyone? The content on your hard drive are only meant for you to be seen?

Lock your screen - fast and easy with a widget. The widget is called Locker and only takes up a tiny bit of space on your Dashboard. You can download it here.

After the download is done, open the widget (in case it doesn’t open automatically) and place it somewhere convenient on your Dashboard.

Quickly remove a widget

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Previously we looked the Dashboard and how we can use it.  With this big number of widgets available, the Dashboard can get quite busy. Time to get rid of those you don’t need (or want).

To quickly remove a widget from your Dashboard, hold down the option key and move your mouse over the widget in question.

This will display the x-symbol to remove a widget in the upper left corner.

Click it and the widget is gone.
