Fill out web forms in Safari automatically

In these days more and more stuff can be done online. A lot of services require us to enter personal data, such as address, phone number and email address into some kind of web form.

This can be quite a pain in the neck, especially as you have to enter the same data over and over again.

Well, no longer. Safari and Address Book work together to do that work for you. Let’s find out how.

SafariStand update - History Flow

Recently, we covered the software updates, released by Apple. SafariStand, one of our favorites add-ons for Safari also has been updated.

Bookmark management is really easy in Safari, our web browser of choice.

Everyone has a bunch of favorite site, e.g. Mac Kindergarten, Google, Facebook, you name it. We visit those sites on a regular basis, most of the time as soon as we go online.

But there is no need to enter the addresses of these pages every time you go online. In fact, only one click is needed after this tutorial.

Customize your visual web history

Previously, we looked at how to create a true, visual web history. Today, we will take things one step further, customizing the history to our needs.We added the Safari history folder to the Finder Sidebar, so we could access our web history in a visual way. While this is great and everything, it can quickly get a bit full in there.

Create a visual web history for Safari

All these webpages we are visiting, all this information we see in just one day sometimes can be a bit overwhelming. Almost everybody has probably already thought something like “I saw this on a web page, but where…?”.

Then you try to use your browser’s history, trying to find out… quite impossible to say, which page it was, when the only thing you are presented is the title.

Today this is over. We will create a true, visual web history.

Replace Safari’s default Google search box

Google has in recent years developed into the search engine. It’s built in into almost every major browser. Our favorite web browser here at Mac Kindergarten is Safari, which is great already by itself (and has this search box, too).

In the following, we will look at a freeware tool which will helps us to make this search box into an instant preview pane for Google search results and thus making Safari even better. Yeah!
