Quick Tip: Rearrange the menu bar icons

The items in the menu bar offer quick access to certain functions (date/time, Time Machine, etc.).

Find out, how to quickly rearrange these icons and/or remove them from the menu bar.

To quickly rearrange the icons, hold down the command-key and then click and drag them around as you wish.

To remove an item, hold down the command-key and drag it off the menu bar. It will vanish in a puff of smoke.

Getting an icon back, once you dragged it off is a bit more complicated, since all of the items have separate places where you can activate/deactivate it (mostly System Preferences). So be careful.

In case you dragged an icon off and can’t find the place to get it back, dont’ worry and leave a comment or email us.

We’ll be happy to help.
