This was very helpful, thank you. However, on my new iMac, it appears to only work for keys F1 thru F6. F7 thru F10 still act differently. For example, if I press F8, I get my screen split in 4 windows. I use programs that need the F8-F10 to do something else. I tried going to the keyboard Shortcuts tab and change them, but F8, while in system Preferences brings up a small menu about Time Machine. So, is there a way to use the F8-F10 (or even F12 if possible) according to the application's intended use?
Thank you.
